Poverty poses greatest threat to the solidarity of any country; it also weakens the will and commitment of people to act in public affairs as a free and independent people. It was 1992 when Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) was established by then and today’s Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, with the aim of helping the poorest of the poor of the country by enabling them to come out of a vicious cycle of misery. This organization also reflects the vision of making Pakistan an Islamic Welfare State in a true sense.
